Prayer for a Deceased Loved One
(You can pray it every day or night, on Undas, or during the first 40 days since your loved one passed away.)
O Almighty Father,
In our time of sorrow and mourning,
We come to You with a suffering heart,
full of memories of our loved ones who have passed away.
With every drop of our tears,
we would like to express our love and gratitude
in the life he shared with us.
We are grateful for the moments we spent with him—
in the smiles, the hugs, and the stories we shared.
May he know that he is loved very much,
and his memory will remain in our hearts,
even though he is no longer with us.
O God, in the midst of our pain,
Give us strength and peace.
Help us face the days ahead.
with hope, despite our grief.
May You embrace him in Your arms.
and grant him eternal peace
in Your kingdom of light and love.
We pray for his soul—
May he attain the light of Your kingdom.
We also pray our hearts,
May they be filled with Your love and comfort.
In times of bereavement,
May we feel Your presence—
You are the one who gives strength and hope to our souls.
O God, in every memory we look back on,
May these be an inspiration to us.
to pursue his dreams and goals.
Help us to be a light to others,
like the light he gave us.
With every step we take,
May we carry his memory with us.
and apply his teachings in our daily lives.
