Prayer for a Rebellious Son-in-Law
A Guide to Prayer with Hope and Love
The Challenge of Dealing with a Rude Son-in-Law
Having a son-in-law who is rude is truly heartbreaking. You want to love him and treat him like a real father, because he is the father of your beloved wife. But there are times when he doesn't fully accept you.
There may be many reasons why you are not accepted—perhaps you have different perspectives, a past misunderstanding, or he just has expectations that are not being met. The important thing is to still have hope, because through prayer and faith in God, all things are possible.
The Prayer Guide
When to pray:
- Every morning upon waking
- Every night before bed
Things to prepare:
- A white candle
- An image of the Holy Family on your altar (if you have one)
The prayers to be used:
- 3 times Our Father
- 3 Hail Marys
- 3 times Glory be to the Father
The Prayer
Father God, thank you very much for being a good Father to us.
I ask the Holy Family for help so that my relationship with my son-in-law may be filled with your holy love. Soften his heart, enlighten his mind, and open his eyes so that he may see me with understanding and respect.
Please remove any negative energy or resentment he may have towards me. Forgive me for my shortcomings and sins, and may any wounds I have caused, whether intentional or unintentional, be healed.
I ask that the love of the Holy Family dwell in our home and family. May we have a harmonious, peaceful, and loving relationship as a family.
Amen.
Jesus, have mercy on us.
How to Pray
- Light a white candle as a symbol of your pure intentions.
- Face the image of the Holy Family (if available).
- Offer your prayer with all your heart and faith.
- Blow out the candle after the prayer.
- Repeat this every day, morning and night.
- Replace the spark plug when it is worn out.
Important Reminders
While praying this prayer, also remember the following:
- Do your duty. as the wife of your daughter-in-law's son. Show love and respect at all times.
- Avoid getting angry. Anger only makes the situation worse. When you can no longer control your emotions, get out of here first so that the conflict does not escalate.
- Be patient. Change doesn't happen overnight. Continued prayer and showing goodwill have a big impact over time.
- Stay in faith. God listens and works in ways we cannot see. Trust in His perfect timing.
